Art update: Nice “Portrait drawing and painting lessons” at the nice day care in Sittard, The Netherlands

Today at this nice day with some nice weather we did go out in the nice city Sittard in The Netherlands. And in this nice city in The Netherland we went to the nice day care. And at the nice day care we could learn something about creating nice artworks. Also there was some space for a nice glass of water or a nice cup of coffee.

And today it was a little bit special day at the nice day care. This because there were “Portrait drawing and painting lessons” at the nice day care. The lessons were given by the very talented and experienced accompanist of the day care. The task/job was to first draw the “outlines” with a pencil on a large paper from the example. The example was a picture of a face with a lot of shadows. So first we had to draw a face (ratio 1:1) on the large paper with a pencil, as earlier said. This all to take a closer look at the example and the “compartments” which were folded in the example. After this we could choose a paint color, blue acrylic paint, red acrylic paint or yellow acrylic paint. Artist “Pietro del Villa” did choose the yellow colour. Then the next step for artist “Pietro del Villa” was to replace all the dark/black/shadows from the example with yellow acrylic paint on the big paper on the easel. It was not a very easy task to do, but it was a good practice to improve your drawing skills and painting skills with the important use of some “shadow-techniques”.

We already made som interesting pictures about this project/task executed by artist “Pietro del Villa” in the city Sittard in The Netherlands. If you want you can see all pictures underneath. The only thing you have to do is to scroll down at this webpage! We wish you already some painting-fun, drawing-fun, shadow-fun and art-fun on this website!

A nice shot from a “easel” at the nice day care, ready to be used in Sittard.
Also a nice shot from another easel at the nice day care, ready to be used in Sittard.
A nice shot of the used “face-example” with many shadows. The “face-example” was “folded” in to sixteen “compartments”. This to make it easier and take a closer look on how the “face-example” was made, to reproduce it on the big paper on the easel in Sittard with a pencil.
The “outlines” / portrait drawing with the pencil on the big paper on the easel in Sittard. If you look more closer to the big paper, you can see the “compartments”, to make it easier to reproduce the “face-example”.
The first “yellow” acrylic paint on the artwork in Sittard.
A nice shot from the artwork taken from some distance. It can be usefull to take some distance from the artwork to see how it looks from a distance.
A nice shot from some “yellow acrylic paint” and “white acrylic paint” that was used today for the lessons at the nice day care.
Some more “yellow acrylic paint” on the artwork in Sittard.
To work with the several “shadow-parts” of the artwork, the right colour-mixing was very important to do.
The artwork still “under construction” in Sittard.
A nice shot from the almost finished artwork in Sittard.
A nice “close-up” from the artwork in Sittard.
